Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based (Birchwood) single-form entry primary school as they are looking to appoint a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support additional learning and behavioural needs across the school. This is a long-term full-time contract starting on 22/04/2025.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting all classes across the school. You offer 1:1 support to pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs across the school, liaising with class teachers to ensure that all sessions are in line with pupils' individual attainment needs. You will take a pupil-centred approach to learning as to ensure that each pupil's individual academic and emotional needs are met. As you will be supporting ALN and behavioural needs, you will be required to implement an array of positive behaviour strategies including DOJO, brain breaks, sensory play and positive behaviour reinforcement and build strong constructive relationships to promote learning and engagement. As well as offering behavioural support, you will offer 1:1 intervention and boosters within a separate classroom to ensure that pupils reach their full academic potential.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting pupils between the ages of 4-11 in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience supporting behavioural needs and delivering positive behaviour support
  • Experience delivering intense interventions and boosters in core subjects
