Established for over 25 years, my client is a market leader in the supply of process engineering systems to a variety of sectors such as Marine, Water, Energy, Food, Beverage, O&G, Renewables and many more.

This multi-million-pound manufacturing business has gone from strength to strength, having been acquired by a well-regarded and lucrative business over recent years, they now form part of a global brand and are able to offer clients more variety of product and services.

The Role

The primary function of the Electrical Design Engineer role is to carry out all electrical design activities associated with the design and manufacture of highly specialised process systems.

Most of the systems being designed will be one off, bespoke systems as per client request and requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Control panel layouts
  • Producing electrical schematics for assembly
  • Creating cable schedules
  • Producing electrical wiring diagrams
  • Carrying out factory acceptance tests (FAT)
  • Preparing documentation for electrical system including datasheets, manuals, FDS and control philosophy
  • Carrying out electrical calculations such as transformer sizing, and sizing cables.

The Person

To be successful in the role of Electrical Design Engineer you will:

  • An electrical qualification (ideally to HNC level)
  • Previous experience working within an Electrical Design Engineer role
  • Solid ability and experience of control panel design
  • Ideally from a bespoke equipment or process background
