Principal Electrical Engineer

Turner Lovell is working closely with a global Energy Engineering Services business to source a Principal Electrical Engineer to join a global group delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects. You will give leadership to design on Solar PV and BESS and other renewables, other power generation projects such as Waste-to-Energy plant design, Data Centre design, as well as supporting the design of grid level infrastructure. This is a hybrid role that can be based close to any of the 4 UK offices of this business.

This role will be accountable across several key areas:

  • Complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects. Typically supporting multiple projects on complex technical challenges
  • Researching and developing recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
  • Overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work
  • Preparing and reviewing complex engineering calculations
  • Managing assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements
  • Serves as a technical specialist, providing consultation and guidance to project teams.

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards).
  • Proven track record leading a team of engineers.
  • Sound understanding of UK Grid Code and relevant regulations, with significant experience on UK based electrical engineering projects.
  • Experience with High Voltage (HV) electrical engineering design.
