Location: Macclesfield (3 days on-site) / Hybrid (2 days WFH)

Contract Type: Temporary (3-6 months)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Rate: £25-£30 per hour

About the Role:

 

We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation CAD Technician to join our Engineering & Design Department on a contract basis. In this role, you will support the team with digital engineering services and contribute to the successful delivery of project designs and handovers, including 2D design deliverables and operation & maintenance documentation.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Produce 2D CAD deliverables, including loop diagrams and block cable diagrams using AutoCAD.
  • Update P&ID drawings in AutoCAD based on redline mark-ups.
  • Collaborate with Instrument Engineers and Designers to ensure project efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members as required.
  • Manage time effectively, balancing multiple tasks and priorities.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

 

Qualifications: ONC in a technical engineering-related subject or substantial relevant experience.

CAD Expertise: Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, particularly in instrumentation and electrical design.

 

Industry Experience:

 

  • Familiarity with UK construction projects and M&E design best practices (focus on instrumentation).
  • Experience with hazardous area (ATEX) projects is desirable.

 

 

Technical Knowledge:

 

  • Understanding of design processes and associated documentation.
  • Experience across the project lifecycle.

 

 

Personal Attributes:

 

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
