Our client's Nuclear Power Engineering & Technical Solutions business provides engineering and technical solutions across the full nuclear lifecycle up to Decommissioning, evolving their credibility as new reactor technologies come to market - creating the UK's most compelling Engineering & Technical solutions provider across all reactor types to contribute to the world's global climate change challenge.

This is a key role within their project and engineering portfolio which is spread across their UK network at all UK sites and stations, with exciting opportunities to join the Nuclear Power EC&I team that is helping our clients to deliver the UKs Net Zero targets.

Summary
Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineers are responsible for supporting the Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team in delivering the UK's Net Zero targets. They work on multiple projects across all UK sites and stations, updating and producing new documents and drawings, planning plant modifications, and providing technical expertise to troubleshoot tasks. They must hold a relevant engineering degree, be adaptable, organized, and have a passion for solving engineering design problems using CAD software.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Site walkdowns
  • Updating existing documents and drawings
  • Helping to produce new documents and drawings, CETS, ECs, RAMs and RFQs
  • Interfacing with project planners
  • Preparing and planning plant modifications
  • Providing technical expertise and knowledge to help troubleshoot activities and tasks

Skills:

  • Relevant engineering degree/HNC/Chartership in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Adaptable and able to transfer existing skills onto new problems
  • Organized and able to work on multiple projects
  • Proficient in CAD software for engineering design
  • Technical expertise in control and instrumentation engineering
  • Knowledge of plant modifications and upgrades
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of safety and regulatory requirements in the nuclear industry
