Service Care Solutions are looking to work within a government entity client on a 12-month contract.Location: Warrington (Hybrid)Job role/responsibilities:To assess and scan documents, imagery, audio material and other material. Prepare documents and material for transfer to The National Archives.

  • Responsible for accurately assessing and scan material against legislative requirements, policy and conventions and maintaining the integrity of the material.
  • Produce and maintain Excel spreadsheets and management reports.
  • To scan material and edit as necessary using Adobe Pro software and manage the product using emails, Excel spreadsheets and various databases.
  • Be responsible for and independently determine material to be scanned or prepared for processing for archiving.
  • When assessing material record appropriate legally based rationale for decisions.
  • To treat the material in accordance with National Archiving standards and preserve the integrity of it.
  • To accurately apply legislation and protocol and apply best practice.
  • Ensure that all material, including sensitive data and exhibits, are managed, and handled appropriately and in accordance with Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), Public Records Act, and archiving protocols.
  • Work at pace to meet changing deadlines and risks associated with the material.
  • Perform assessments on material in preparation for sensitivity reviews.
  • Treat all material professionally and sensitively, understanding the operational impacts and consequences of mishandling material.
  • Maintain confidentiality in relation to all material.

Knowledge/Responsibilities:

  • Approachable and diplomatic and remain calm in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Previous experience demonstrating research and/or analytical skills (could be part of a degree course).
  • Extensive experience of computer systems and Standard software packages relevant to the Archive Team with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Experience in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience in record management and compliance in line with data protection and legal obligations.
  • Able to regularly prioritise workload risks based on knowledge of legal obligations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft business applications (MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Pro and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, evaluate the threat posed and determine a course of action.
  • Ability to work in a controlled methodical way within time constraints.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively.

Qualifications:

  • A good general standard of education (e.g. GCSE/Level 2 qualifications or their equivalent).
