Ascent Recruitment is excited to exclusively partner with a well-established and expanding manufacturing company near Newton le Willows to find a part-time Assistant Accountant/Office Manager with experience in the manufacturing sector.

Reporting to a fantastic Financial Controller, this role offers a great opportunity for an experienced transactional accountant with SME experience, to take on new responsibilities, including full ownership of the transactional finance function and involvement in month-end processes, as well as support with sales and opeartions.

This a fantastic role for someone looking for a fully flexible role, later start and earlier finish if required, a shorter week around 30-32 hours per week, that can be completed over 3, 4, or 5 days.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy in supplier invoices.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations
  • Raise and distribute weekly sales invoices to customers.
  • Prepare and process cash receipts, matching them to the relevant invoices in line with payments received.
  • Help to implement and maintain robust financial controls
  • Perform month-end reconciliations
  • Ad-Hoc office management/sales/operational support - around 15-20% of the role

Key Experience:-

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good numeracy and IT skills
  • Proven experience in implementing process improvements.
  • ERP system experience
  • Previous sales/operational support (desirable)
