Job Purpose
  • Manage your own client portfolio, monitoring all commercial aspects of portfolio management
  • Work closely with Partners and Directors to ensure budgets, deadlines and clients’ expectations are met
  • Review statutory year-end accounts
  • Monitor junior staff by reviewing work and providing on-the-job training
  • Identify and resolve account issues
  • Attend accounts planning and closing accounts meetings
  • Provide support in the recruitment of new staff
  • Scope expansion opportunities to help steer business development
  • Use IT software including IRIS, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
  • Work closely across departments to ensure clients are benefiting from an all-encompassing service
  • Oversee ad hoc client projects, including cashflow forecasts valuations and advice on acquisitions
  • Keep up-to-date on CPD requirements and regulation changes
  • Set an example as a hands-on and supportive Manager

The Successful Candidate
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, part qualified or studying
  • Qualified by relevant experience also considered
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio within UK practice
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software including Excel
  • Solid project management and multitasking skills
  • First-class communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive outlook and can-do attitude towards problem-solving
  • Highly organised and able to manage own workload effectively
  • Confident working alongside Senior Managers
  • Motivated and able to inspire others
  • Keen to progress within the firm and learn from the team
