The Client

Our client work within the construction industry and are a leading commercial glazing, cladding and faade manufacturing and installation specialist, they are looking to add a Buyer to their team. The Role of Buyer

The Buyer will be responsible for managing all aspects of procurement for projects as allocated. Your responsibility will be, but not limited to:

  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Negotiate pricing, logistics, terms and conditions to secure favourable orders.
  • Monitor the delivery of goods and services to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
  • Ensure that material levels are adequate, preventing shortages or overstock situations both internally and onsite
  • Work with the factory / site teams and suppliers to ensure proper receipt and storage of material.
  • Oversee supplier contracts / purchase orders to ensure terms are adhered to, including pricing, warranty, Data sheets, O&M manuals etc.
  • Analyse purchasing trends to identify potential cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, pricing changes, and new product developments such as Aluminium and glass
  • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., production, finance, design, site teams) to align procurement activities with organizational needs.
  • Generate Reports: Provide regular reports on procurement activities, such as procurement planners, design trackers, purchase order status, invoice spend, and supplier performance.
  • Escalate issues as a priority in line with procedure.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
