About the Opportunity

To support the delivery of the SRP Project, we are seeking a CE&I Designer to join the design team. Responsibilities of this position are to produce design deliverables for SRP’s cable containment network via AVEVA E3D software.

The role will include production and management of cable containment designs;

  • Space Management & Coordination of all cable containment networks within AVEVA E3D.
  • Ensuring that drawings and documents output from AVEVA E3D comply with Sellafield Ltd engineering standards.
  • Meeting operational requirements within the containment system design, providing safe operational access for installation, commissioning and plant operators

Responsibilities:

  • The role will include production and management of cable containment designs
  • Management of CE&I design configuration baseline for the above CE&I systems in response to developing project requirements and design information from the supply chain.
  • To integrate and coordinate the containment system into the wider SRP Plant, via Building Interface Modelling (BIM), working with the other engineering and non-technical disciplines

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Has excellent communication and organisation skills and is able to interface a team of designers & engineers from multiple disciplines.
  • Has a HNC (or greater) in a relevant field, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Professionally registered or be working towards professional registration.

At interview, shall be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Evidence of their design and leadership competence through previous work and projects.
  • Proficiency in the use of 3D modelling packages (PDMS/E3D /REVIT) and AutoCAD.
  • Able to spatially conceptualise and translate ideas into design drawings, resolving issues presented by other disciplines (clashes).
  • Understanding of the data requirements of drawings being produced to facilitate an efficient dataset to BIM Level 2.
  • Independently capable of managing their area of responsibility

Project Overview:

The Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS) Retreatment Plant (SRP) Project will provide a facility that receives Special Nuclear Material (SNM) from existing stores across the Sellafield site and processes it into a form suitable for safe and secure storage until 2120. This is a national strategic asset. This new Retreatment Plant project will make Sellafield safer sooner by;

  • Safely receiving all SNM packages from their current storage locations.
  • Retreating and/or repackaging those packages into 100-year packages.
  • Transferring the new 100-year packages to the Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS)
  • Enabling all SNM to remain safe and secure in this Store – into the next century and beyond.

The SRP Project is currently in the Construction phase which incorporates procurement, manufacture, works test, installation, and commissioning. This role is required to provide both design support activities to the supply chain, along with completion of outstanding design scope from earlier project phases. Furthermore, the role will include overseeing implementation of formal Design Change.
