As a Gardener, you will work 37.5 hours a week as you utilize your gardening and DIY skills as you take pride in creating and maintaining pruned bushes, a tidy lawn and colourful flower beds. You will be responsible for the general upkeep of the grounds.
Working alongside the Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for the general upkeep of the grounds and buildings. This will see you mend, improve and create beautiful outdoor spaces for staff, service users and visitors to enjoy.
As a gardener, you will enjoy a hands-on approach as you oversee regular duties, including using mowers, maintaining flower beds, trimming and pruning hedges, leaf clearing and treating lawns.
You will participate in horticultural long-term projects to develop Arbury Courts grounds, which includes promoting and encouraging wildlife throughout the service grounds.
As a Gardener you will be:
- Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
- Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
- Assisting in all decorating.
- Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
- Maintaining the perimeter fencing around boundaries
- Maintaining the grounds including, grass cutting, weeding, hedges, flower beds.
- Facilitating gardening groups with patients
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Comply with system and procedures.
- Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
- Have gardening experience
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
- Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

You will be working at Arbury Court, a service that provides care and treatment for women in differing levels of security, enabling clear care pathways and a positive patient experience.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team focusing on medium, low Secure and psychiatric intensive care PICU) for women, over the age of 18, with Personality Disorder and Mental Illness. The treatment approach at Arbury Court which is rehabilitation and recovery dictates that care is ‘person-centred’ as opposed to ‘disease-centred’.
