Infrastructure Engineer – Warrington - £45,000
A highly successful and rapidly growing business are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team. As the Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the support, maintenance and improvement of the server environment; ensuring the network and systems are secure from attack and compliant with recognised security standards and best practices.
As the IT Engineer you will monitor the network and provide expert knowledge and guidance on security risks and improvements, support business communication and messaging systems and support and control the Active Directory infrastructure. You will also work to maintain SQL Servers and support public facing, load balanced, web servers. Other key responsibilities include:
Configure and maintain MBA’s firewalls, routers and switches, to give the highest level of operational security possible. Including site to site and remote access VPNs.
Devise optimal configurations for IT systems; plan and advise on improvements to systems, from initial design to rollout, taking full responsibility for the progress and completion of project work
Support Junior I.T. Engineers in resolving technical issues, ensuring they gain the knowledge to solve future problems, and imparting general knowledge
Manage backups and procedures
To be suitable for this role you will have knowledge of and experience in managing:
Server hardware, FC & iSCSI configuration, SAN storage
Microsoft Hyper-V / Clustering
Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Microsoft Office 365, Entra ID
Microsoft SQL management
Information Security systems and monitoring
TCP/IP Networking
VOIP telephony systems
The salary on offer for this role is up to £45,000 plus benefits.
