ENG Bauen is supporting major projects and critical work packages across the UK and Europe in industries including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, energy, utilities, and renewables. As a UK leader in engineering services, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join their team and contribute to high-impact projects.




In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and commissioning of control systems for major industrial projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will provide technical support during the project lifecycle, from system design and specification through to FAT, SAT, and final commissioning.



Additionally, youll play a key role in reviewing system requirements, overseeing the integration of hardware and software components, and ensuring systems are delivered in accordance with project timelines and technical specifications.

The Role:

  • Lead and oversee systems engineering projects from FAT and SAT through to final commissioning
  • Identify project opportunities and manage variations in scope to optimize outcomes
  • Drive the standardization and modularization of systems to enhance project efficiency
  • Support installation and commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications
  • Collaborate with project teams on material selection, procurement, and delivery timelines
  • Provide technical expertise on control panels, electrical installations, and instrumentation solutions
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices throughout the project lifecycle



The Person:

  • Extensive experience in electrical design, installation, and commissioning within industrial sectors such as oil & gas, nuclear, or pharmaceutical
  • Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, with the ability to lead automation and control systems projects
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation, including system integration and optimization
  • Familiarity with full project lifecycle management, from cradle to grave, including FAT and SAT procedures
  • Ability to identify project variations and drive solutions to improve project outcomes
