Project Manager / Senior Project Manager - EPC Substations

Location: UK (Various locations. Flexible with Hybrid Working Model)

My client, a leader in delivering innovative EPC substation projects, are seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive EPC experience to join their team.

You'll be driving complex infrastructure projects that shape the future of energy. In this role, you'll manage high-profile projects across the UK, ensuring exceptional project delivery with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to high safety standards, oversee site mobilization, and drive project milestones to ensure timely and safe delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tender preparation, providing crucial support and guidance.
  • Lead all aspects of project planning and execution, including managing critical project milestones and deadlines.
  • Oversee engineering processes to align with project objectives and coordinate procurement to maintain timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Facilitate seamless communication among suppliers, engineering teams, on-site personnel, and clients.
  • Maintain a strong presence on-site throughout construction and commissioning, ensuring quality and compliance standards.
  • Oversee final project handover, ensuring full compliance and client satisfaction.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure profitability while adhering to safety and quality standards.

In order to apply you will need:

  • Extensive experience in EPC projects, Ideally involving Sub Stations with a focus on Electrical Transmission and Civil Construction.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles, from tender through to handover.
  • Strong financial acumen with budget and cost management experience; proven track record in on-time, within-budget project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) processes and ability to manage engineering, procurement, and site delivery schedules.
  • Proven experience with health, safety, and environmental management, particularly with CDM regulations and site safety.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and communication, with a history of successfully leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software, methodologies, and best practices, particularly for Electrical substations.
  • Risk mitigation and opportunity management expertise.
  • Ability to effectively navigate complex projects from inception to completion.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred but not essential
