JA1435 Security Consultant [Nuclear]Location – Warrington Type - Permanent – Full-timeSalary - £CompetitiveOverview:We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic Security Consultant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our client’s growing Warrington team (location flexible). The successful candidates will support major projects within the nuclear industry in the UK and internationally. The ideal candidate will have experience in both list “N” and list “X”. This role would suit a former Royal Navy Cat “A” Nuclear Watch-keeper.Due to the nature of the work, the candidates must have a suitable background that will allow them to achieve UK security clearance.Job Role:

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development of major safety cases through authoring, verifying and managing Safety Case documentation, including:
  • Hazard identification, Hazard Assessments (HAZANs), deterministic and quantitative assessments, designation of proportionate safety measures and ALARP justification.
  • Radiological and conventional safety assessments.
  • Undertaking specialist assessments to support the Safety Case.
  • Safety Case strategies and/or devising key Safety Case arguments.
  • Mentoring less experienced assessors in the production of safety case documentation and the use of safety assessment tools/techniques.
  • Managing delivery of projects in a consultancy environment and from cradle to grave, including:
  • Managing contracts and writing proposals for new work.
  • Client relationship management and development.
  • Managing resource to ensure project delivery within budget.

Key Requirements:

  • A proven track record of applying risk management principles and delivering Safety Case documentation in the Nuclear Industry.
  • A drive to ensure successful delivery and continuous client satisfaction by delivering pragmatic and proportionate solutions.
  • An ability to quickly grasp complex issues and apply knowledge and experience to deliver pragmatic and proportionate solutions in the context of nuclear operating plant and different stages of the plant lifecycle e.g. decommissioning.
  • The ability to manage the interfaces with a range of stakeholders (internally and externally).

Personal Qualities:

  • Able to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently where needed.
  • Clear communication skills are essential, both verbal and written, and strong organisational skills and attention to detail are critical.
  • Strong analytical and logical skills are essential.
