We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Network & Systems Administrator to join our IT team at our Retail Support Centre in Warrington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation, security, and reliability of our systems and networks, playing a critical role in supporting our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration:

  • Manage Microsoft Server-based systems, including installation and updates.
  • Deploy and manage monitoring systems for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with third parties for seamless system integration.
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues and create policies aligned with best practices.

Network Management:

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise our LAN, WAN, store, and warehouse infrastructure.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, APs).
  • Ensure network security and advise on best practices.
  • Manage network incidents and work with external providers when necessary.
  • Plan and implement network upgrades to maintain a robust infrastructure.

Microsoft 365 Administration:

  • Administer the Microsoft 365 Enterprise suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security compliance.
  • Conduct security audits and maintain backup/recovery strategies.

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to office, warehouse, remote, and store-based end-users.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding, including account provisioning.
  • Support store upgrades, refits, and openings as needed.

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Documentation:

  • Ensure Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans are up to date.
  • Maintain system documentation and manage hardware/software inventories.
  • Keep detailed network documentation, including topology diagrams and device configurations.

Performance Optimisation & Collaboration:

  • Monitor and optimise business system performance.
  • Address performance bottlenecks and collaborate with external partners for escalated issues.
  • Regularly update the Infrastructure Manager on system status and projects.

The Candidate:

  • Systems Administration: Experience with Microsoft Server systems and Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
  • IT and Networking Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network architecture, and optimisation.
  • Cloud Computing: Proficiency with Azure and AWS cloud environments.
  • Active Directory & DNS Management: Expertise in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
  • Virtualisation Technologies: Familiarity with VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex IT issues.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Certifications like MCSE or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
