Engineer

I am currently looking for a Design Engineer with 1 to 5 years' experience to join an extremely well-regarded SME National Consultancy in Warrington or Liverpool. They are looking for an engineer with strong design experience using TEKLA, LUSAS, MIDAS or CAD to join their team working on a fantastic portfolio of projects.

This consultancy is able to offer you variety in your projects, perfect for any engineer when looking to achieve a portfolio ready to submit for Chartership. They can offer Highway RC Bridges on major Transport for Wales frameworks, they can offer Rail Bridges, Steel and RC with Network Rail across the UK and they can offer a plethora of Footbridges and maintenance schemes. They also offer Temporary Works and Rail Infrastructure in abundance on frameworks such as CP7 and major infrastructure like the TRU.

By joining this consultancy with a team of 25 across Warrington and Liverpool your exposure will be unprecedented, testing your ability to work independently, manage your time efficiently and most importantly it will test your design capabilities. This is not a negative for the right engineer, this role is for someone that wants all of the above but is still perhaps looking for support from Senior Engineers, this consultancy can do both.

Desired criteria:

• Experience of design in Bridge Structures, Temporary Works or Rail Infrastructure.
• Experience of grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software packages such as MIDAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design (SBD), Robot, LUSAS, or similar.
• Experience of 2D and 3D CAD typical of what is needed of an engineer to consult and produce basic changes to drawings
• Past use of maths calculation tools such as Mathcad, MATLAB, Excel Visual Basic (Macros) or similar is beneficial but not essential. Willingness to use these tools daily and learn would be acceptable
• Previous design experience using REVIT or CAD
• Site Inspection Experience
• Relevant Civil/Structural Engineering degree BEng, MEng or MSc.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport would be useful but not imperative
• Eligible to live and work in the UK and high standard of written English
