Our Client has a requirement for a Civil / Coastal Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Epsom, Bristol, Manchester, Peterborough, Exeter, Glasgow or Swansea.
Role Purpose:
- Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality level
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals
- Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
- Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Chartered Civil Engineer.
- Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
- Sound knowledge in ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes and sediment transport.
- Design experience of coastal structures such as flood defences, sea walls, breakwaters, revetments and beaches to appropriate codes and standards such as BS6349, EurOtop manual and rock manual.
- The ability to plan and direct others in the use of numerical modelling to simulate wave propagation, tidal flows hydrodynamics etc
