Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and capable General Foreman to oversee multiple water treatment and utilities projects across various sites in the North West of England. This contract position is ideal for a proactive leader with substantial expertise in civil engineering and water infrastructure. The General Foreman will ensure that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, all while being on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Management:

Oversee and coordinate daily site activities, ensuring optimal use of labour, equipment, and materials.

Monitor project schedules and address any delays or issues promptly.

Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies on-site to maintain a safe working environment.

Team Leadership:

Lead and support site teams, including subcontractors and junior foremen, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Conduct regular site meetings to communicate progress, resolve issues, and align on priorities.

Quality Control:

Ensure all work meets specified quality standards and adheres to project drawings and specifications.

Perform inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Coordination and Communication:

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and project integration.

Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management and clients.

Problem Solving:

Identify and address operational challenges as they arise during the project lifecycle.

Develop and implement solutions to improve site efficiency and productivity.

Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, safety inspections, and material deliveries.

Ensure all site operations comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in water treatment, utilities, or civil engineering projects.

Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and standards within the water industry.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites and teams effectively.

Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and project plans.

Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices.

Valid CSCS card and relevant safety certifications.

Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across sites in the North West of England.

Preferred Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 in Construction Site Supervision or equivalent.

Experience with project management software and tools.

First Aid Certification.

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
