Job Role: CAD Technician
Location: Birmingham or Warrington
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + package
About the role:
Advance TRS are delighted to support a Tier 1 Design & Build contractor in recruiting for a Senior CAD Technician to join their expanding UK-wide Water Design Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of water utilities projects, including water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure design. You will play a crucial role in a multi-disciplinary team, delivering designs from feasibility through to construction and commissioning.
You will primarily support long-term frameworks with Northumbrian Water Group, Severn Trent Water, and United Utilities, with additional opportunities to work on other frameworks and projects across the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work within project controls, adhering to guidelines and procedures.
- Support the design team in a range of CAD and design-related tasks.
- Produce high-quality design outputs, following company and client CAD standards.
- Lead the implementation of BIM on projects and ensure compliance with BIM standards.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians and trainees.
- Collaborate on water and wastewater infrastructure design projects.
- Use the relevant Quality Management Systems and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially CDM.
About you:
- Relevant degree or technical qualification (HNC/HND) through apprenticeship or formal learning.
- Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design is highly desirable, but we also welcome applicants from other civil engineering backgrounds who are keen to learn.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other related engineering software.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- A dedicated team player with a client-focused approach and a drive for continuous improvement.
- A good understanding of project delivery, health & safety regulations, and a focus on quality.
