Assistant Design Engineer (North West)
30,000 - 35,000 plus package
Summary
The Assistant Design Engineer will assist with the production of the engineering design from land appraisal through to construction issue. They will prepare the design drawings to agreed standards and format that will be used to gain technical approval and to construct the works on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the required highway and drainage designs for projects, including the production of drawings for Section 38 and Section 104 packs to help secure the approval of and, where appropriate, progress the adoption agreement with the relevant Statutory Authority.
- Assist with preparation of 3D information relating to earthworks.
- To achieve the most cost-effective solution to construct and service the site.
- Assist in the production of layouts and technical report for Land Appraisals; and required working drawings.
- Assist with initial negotiations/enquiries with statutory bodies on environmental, drainage, highways, and other engineering issues when appraising land.
- Brief and commission topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired.
- Liaise with other departments as required to ensure quick responses are provided to internal queries and the division maintains and improves its customer satisfaction scores
- Feedback from site teams at all points of the build to improve the design and implementation of future schemes to avoid wastage and improve the engineered solutions
- Provide support to Principal Designer to ensure full compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) regulations
The Individual
- Used to meeting deadlines
- Drive for professional development and career progression within the Design team
- Working experience of producing civil engineering drawings for S38 and S104 packs (Roads and Drainage) ideally in the residential sector
- Proficient use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite of programs. Working knowledge of causeway design packages (PDS, flow), Micro drainage would be an advantage
Package / Remuneration:
Basic Salary: Between 30,000 - 35,000 plus bonus
