We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a truly exciting businesses in a role that offers the design and engineering freedom akin to top-tier Automotive/motorsport environments. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in high-pressure scenarios and have a proven track record in fields such as Automotive, motorsport or aerospace engineering.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Responsible for design engineering at both component and assembly levels, independently reporting to senior engineers and management.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of projects, which includes manufacture, build, testing, and racing, along with fault analysis and resolution.
  • Engage in engineering problem-solving, ensuring solutions are carried through to production.
  • Participate in workshop car build, preparation, and fabrication as required flexibility to complete team tasks is essential.
  • Travel to events as needed, with the amount varying based on project requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, aerospace, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies; knowledge of composites and electrical engineering is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in basic stress calculations and the ability to interpret stress analysis results.
  • Advanced CAD skills; experience with SolidWorks is advantageous.
  • Data analysis skills are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
  • A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent attention to detail, and methodical work practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a friendly and collaborative outlook.
