Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Plant Modification Proposal Technical Author in Warrington. Location: Warrington or Cumbria HYBRID Split of 3/2 days, Travel occasionally required.  Type: Ongoing 6 months to 3+ years Rate: £45.00 - £60.00 per hour UMB (Inside IR35) You will be reporting to the Plant Modification Proposal Manager and working on variety of Civil Nuclear Engineering projects. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage high-quality technical documents in line with project requirements.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation method statements.
  • Identify potential hazards and ensure safety measures in relation to nuclear and conventional safety, environmental and waste management, construction, and operational activities. 
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate, clear, and compliant documentation.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Work within a highly collaborative project environment, requiring strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • A proven background in Technical Authoring / Technical Writing on complex engineering projects. 
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, Installation Method statements and Risk assessments 
  • Familiarity with construction and engineering practices, preferably  within a nuclear setting (other highly regulated industry experience will be considered.)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Security Clearance (SC) is required for this role - can start with BPSS
