Techniche Global is seeking a Plant Modification Proposal Technical Author for an engineering defense contractor in Warrington or Cumbria, with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
The role is ongoing for 6 months to over 3 years, offering a pay rate of £45.00 to £60.00 per hour, inside IR35.
Key responsibilities include developing technical documents, reviewing technical drawings, ensuring safety measures, and collaborating with stakeholders.
Candidates should have a proven background in technical authoring on complex engineering projects and strong communication skills, with familiarity in nuclear or highly regulated industries preferred.
Security Clearance (SC) is required, but candidates can start with BPSS.

Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Plant Modification Proposal Technical Author in Warrington. Location: Warrington or Cumbria HYBRID Split of 3/2 days, Travel occasionally required. Type: Ongoing 6 months to 3+ years Rate: £45.00 - £60.00 per hour UMB (Inside IR35) You will be reporting to the Plant Modification Proposal Manager and working on variety of Civil Nuclear Engineering projects. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage high-quality technical documents in line with project requirements.
Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation method statements.
Identify potential hazards and ensure safety measures in relation to nuclear and conventional safety, environmental and waste management, construction, and operational activities.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate, clear, and compliant documentation.
Contribute to risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Work within a highly collaborative project environment, requiring strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

A proven background in Technical Authoring / Technical Writing on complex engineering projects.
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, Installation Method statements and Risk assessments
Familiarity with construction and engineering practices, preferably within a nuclear setting (other highly regulated industry experience will be considered.)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
