Category Team Coordinator

Location: Warrington (Office) (3 days in the office and 2 at home)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic Category Team Coordinator to join our Procurement Team. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the Category Team to manage and administer business areas, aiming to increase spend under management and deliver best practice procurement services to both internal and external customers.

As the Category Team Coordinator, you will support end-to-end procurement activities, manage low-value, non-complex contracts, and analyse key statistical and financial data within your category. You will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, and take responsibility for managing the contract renewal process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage customers whose contracts are due to expire, providing timely and proactive support.
  • Administer contracts, including extending existing agreements and drafting new contracts using pre-prepared templates.
  • Maintain and update the CRM system, ensuring high-quality data is recorded.
  • Provide support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers through regular and effective communication.
  • Collate and provide data and reports as needed.
  • Ensure income is accurately tracked against closed-won opportunities.
  • Manage price files and catalogues within the team as required.
  • Offer general administrative support to the Category Team and wider teams.
  • Promote the clients corporate values to staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to learning and developing category-specific knowledge.

Person Specification:

We are looking for a self-starting, inquisitive, and confident individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. You should be flexible, friendly, and capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You should also be organised, self-disciplined, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills being highly desirable.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable.
