Our client, a leader in the nuclear industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal EC&I Engineer to join their team on a part time contract basis. This role involves leading a team of CE&I engineers and designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design packages for current and future stages of nuclear projects.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing, checking, and providing technical oversight of CE&I deliverables including documents, reports, calculations, schedules, and drawings
  • Delivering projects to relevant standards, codes, and regulations
  • Collaborating with other disciplines, stakeholders, and the wider project team
  • Managing engineers, designers, and supply chain contracts
  • Developing CE&I schedules and estimates
  • Planning, monitoring, and managing resource requirements
  • Supporting and leading technical and project meetings


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in safety engineering, controls and instrumentation, and electronics
  • Understanding of document control processes
  • Demonstrable experience with electrical infrastructure, UPS systems, and machinery safety systems (BS EN 13849)
  • Experience and understanding of CE/UKCA marking
  • Conversant with regulator requirements, standards, and procedures at a project level
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience delivering projects from scoping to operational handover and close out
  • Desire to support less experienced engineers, graduates, and apprentices
  • Understanding of project fundamentals and metrics for evaluating design progress
  • SC clearance preferred


Qualifications:

  • Essential: ONC
  • Desirable: BEng Degree, IEng/CEng

  • Nuclear industry experience
  • Lightning protection/earthing
  • Process instrumentation design
  • Design of radiometric instrumentation
