Our client, a leader in the nuclear industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal EC&I Engineer to join their team on a part time contract basis. This role involves leading a team of CE&I engineers and designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design packages for current and future stages of nuclear projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing, checking, and providing technical oversight of CE&I deliverables including documents, reports, calculations, schedules, and drawings
- Delivering projects to relevant standards, codes, and regulations
- Collaborating with other disciplines, stakeholders, and the wider project team
- Managing engineers, designers, and supply chain contracts
- Developing CE&I schedules and estimates
- Planning, monitoring, and managing resource requirements
- Supporting and leading technical and project meetings
Job Requirements:
- Experience in safety engineering, controls and instrumentation, and electronics
- Understanding of document control processes
- Demonstrable experience with electrical infrastructure, UPS systems, and machinery safety systems (BS EN 13849)
- Experience and understanding of CE/UKCA marking
- Conversant with regulator requirements, standards, and procedures at a project level
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience delivering projects from scoping to operational handover and close out
- Desire to support less experienced engineers, graduates, and apprentices
- Understanding of project fundamentals and metrics for evaluating design progress
- SC clearance preferred
Qualifications:
- Essential: ONC
- Desirable: BEng Degree, IEng/CEng
