Warrington are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team to support discharge from our 40 bed inpatient transitional units based over 2 sites South Warrington. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.
- Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment.
- Experience in Moving and Handling is essentialas well as Single handed care knowledge.
- Undertake assessments for all ages and work with service users who have a wide range of disabilities e.g. neurological, genetic, learning disabilities, and long term conditions associated with old age frailty, including organic mental health conditions e.g. Dementia.
- Assess and treat patients requiring ward-based rehabilitation and assessment for discharge planning.
- Working along side the Team Manager. Visits to residents homes will be required. To ensure collaboration with our partner agencies.
- Experience of functional assessment experience of working with people with disabilities/vulnerable people.
- Providing expert advice, and assessments for equipment and home modifications.
- Recommending adaptations.
- An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.
To Be Successful.
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
- Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Previous experience working with adaptations.
- Specialising in Single handed care/ complex moving and handling.
- Manual handling experience.
- HCPC Registration.
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Occupational Therapist Qualification.
