Tradewind is currently recruiting a Social, Emotional Mental Health Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Warrington.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is comfortable supporting students who can display challenging behaviour.

A mainstream Warrington Primary School requires a SEMH Teaching Assistant to start November 4th on a full-time basis for the full academic year, until July 2025.

The successful candidate will be supporting a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), therefore, it is vital that you have prior experience supporting a student with these needs on a one-to-one basis.

Due to the behaviour, the school is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is calm, patient, resilient and positive. .

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH or SEN (essential)
  • Strong knowledge surrounding behavioural challenges (essential)
  • Experience supporting students one-to-one (desirable)
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent (desirable)

The Essentials:

  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure (cost of DBS is refunded after working 20 days)
  • A full, 10-year career history and be able to provide a minimum of 2 references
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • A minimum of 2 professional references including one from your most recent employer
