Principal Process Engineer

Contract: 12-month contract, inside IR35
Hourly Rate: £60-70 per hour
Location: Warrington, with 3 days working from home per week

Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Process Engineer to join their Engineering, Technical, and Specialist Capability team. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of complex engineering and technical activities within the nuclear sector. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to drive innovation and excellence, contributing to the client's commitment to safety, sustainability, and achieving net zero targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage multidisciplinary teams to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of engineering work, meeting agreed project scopes.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, resolving technical and delivery issues and providing progress updates.
  • Technical Management: Oversee the engineering output to ensure delivery aligns with technical requirements and agreed scopes.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold the highest standards of health and safety, ensuring all team members comply with company protocols related to safety, ethics, and behaviours.
  • Capability Development: Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills, aligning capabilities with future workload demands.
  • Quality Assurance: Plan and execute project and technical audits to ensure learning and experience are integrated into standards.
  • Best Practices: Maintain and promote knowledge of industry best practices, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and driving organizational development.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities and new work streams to support the client's growth objectives.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate effective cooperation across engineering and other functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline, with substantial demonstrable experience, preferably in the Nuclear industry.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Proven experience managing teams to deliver engineering analysis activities across various project types.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a diverse range of tasks and complexities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with other disciplines.
  • Capability to pass security clearance. (SC Clearance)

Desirable:

  • Membership in a relevant institute or equivalent demonstrable engineering experience, with eligibility for registration with the Engineering Council.
  • Experience managing engineering scopes for projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).
  • Extensive experience in a range of commercial or defence projects.
