Work Arrangement: Primarily site-based at Bridgwater, with potential for some remote working for the right candidate

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our existing team at Hinkley Point C. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Mechanical & Electrical Fabrication and Installation contract within the Turbine Hall of the Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the construction team achieves the best value for the company to meet contract commercial targets.
  • Maintain strict adherence to contractual processes and the company's commercial governance.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial experience, including working knowledge of NEC & FIDIC contracts.
  • Manage contract production and negotiations to secure optimal terms.
  • Prepare and present monthly site valuation and work progress reports.
  • Assist in evaluating and preparing project payment applications.
  • Verify subcontractor claims and oversee site measurement.
  • Ensure pricing documents, BOQs, contract documentation, and quotation submissions are accurate and in order.
  • Monitor and control project budget and cash flow, ensuring accurate forecasting.
  • Collaborate with contractors and site teams to provide reports to senior management.
  • Support Head Office in purchasing compliant materials and ensuring timely delivery.

 

 

Key Skills & Competencies:

 

  • Strong commercial focus
  • Experience with FIDIC & NEC contracts
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on large-scale projects
  • Nuclear industry experience preferred but not essential
  • CSCS MAPS H&S Test certification
