Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundworks, civil engineering, and new build housing to join our team. You will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of assigned projects, working closely with our production, finance, and procurement teams to deliver exceptional value and accurate project forecasting. This role involves substantial site visits, client liaison, and the development of innovative solutions to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site visits to liaise with the production team, ensuring smooth project progress.
  • Assist estimators in preparing and reviewing tenders and understanding client requirements to provide value-engineered solutions.
  • Offer early-stage cost advice to clients on project variations and ensure only authorised changes proceed.
  • Review technical drawings, ensuring proper documentation is maintained across projects.
  • Manage the end-to-end commercial aspects of projects to maximise value, collaborating closely with Finance and Procurement departments.
  • Execute all commercial accountabilities accurately and on schedule, including rate analysis, agreement of variations, and compensation events.
  • Identify and mitigate potential debt risks; negotiate financial resolutions with third parties.
  • Maintain accurate monthly and annual profit forecasts throughout project timelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum GCSE (7 A-C / 5-9) including Maths and English.
  • Minimum 3 A-Levels (Grade B or above) or equivalent BTEC.
  • HNC Level 4 qualification in Construction/Building or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically within groundworks, civil engineering, or new build housing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and analytical abilities.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
