Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a National Transport Planner to join our team in Warrington, supporting our customer Iceland. You will be responsible for the route planning for our depots across our UK network, playing a key role ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our transport and warehouse departments.

This is a full time, permanent position, working any 5 days from 7, 06:00 till 14:00 however, due to the nature of this role, flexibility with working hours is essential.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Plan routes for multiple depots in line with KPI’s and to agreed service levels
  • Create a transport plan through standard ways of working to optimise resource whilst maximising service and delivery cost
  • Communicate with stakeholders across multiple sites and departments
  • Control costs in line with budget and propose initiatives that will support cost reductions
  • Provide accurate and effective information to sites and stores regarding the plan. Including feedback to aid engagement

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Excellent understanding of manual transport planning
  • Experience within a planning or operations environment that demonstrates the capability to schedule a plan within Paragon
  • Strong geographical experience required
  • Knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours and tachograph
