Business Development Manager

We are working with a prestigious client who specialise in the supply of a range of metals on the roll, cut to size or in strips. In addition to supply, their highly skilled team combine unparalleled experience with technical knowledge to provide a fully bespoke and complete services to a number of sectors. We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Warrington.

Key Skills required of the Business Development Manager:

  • Must have over 4 years hands on working experience as a Business Development Manager
  • Experience in commercial areas within a small to medium sized business with varied responsibilities
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing costings, quotations and reviewing tenders.
  • Working within a small but focused team.
  • Must have experience of field sales activities including meeting and negotiating with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to develop costings and quotations and present them to customers, architects and other in a positive and professional manner whether in person or via electronic communications
  • Ability to communicate positively and professionally with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • Computing skills including MS office, Excel, Outlook and other IT packages.
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable experience:

  • Knowledge of using Sage 200
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Experience of working with wire mesh based materials or similar i.e. expanded metal or perforated metal
  • Experience of the architectural cladding industry
  • Experience of contract law and good practice.
  • Experience of leading people and/or projects

The successful Business Development Manager will work closely with the directors, senior managers and commercial teams within primarily the Industrial business sector but also contribute to field sales activities of the Architectural division:

Identify and maximise business from opportunities created by website enquiries, commercial knowledge, new applications or projects, targeted accounts, new product development etc.

Work with the management team to develop commercial strategies involving the team and key supplier partners as appropriate.
