Location: Warrington. Based 2-3 days per week in the office. It is expected to be office-based during the first few weeks of onboarding.

About our client and the role of Collections Assistant:
Our client is a fast-growing Challenger Bank who have an exciting opportunity for a Collections Assistant to join the Collections and Recoveries team in Warrington. The main purpose of the role is to manage early arrears and minimise losses for the banks, whilst adhering to TCF values.
We're looking for driven and ambitious candidates with some experience in banking/financial services, looking to gain experience in collections, arrears and recoveries.
Responsibilities for the role of Collections Assistant:
- Own the early arrears contact strategy for the Bank, ensuring this is effectively actioned and recorded in a timely manner, following up with any customer call back requests as necessary
- To support and assist the work of the Collections & Recoveries team to effectively manage early arrears and to minimise losses for the Bank.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a professional manner and have the ability to show empathy and sympathy as required.
- Provide a best-in-class customer service to promote the Banks business and minimise customer complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction
- Ensure that vulnerable customers are identified and managed sympathetically and in line with process, ensuring that logs are accurately maintained
- Ensure that any customer enquiries are responded within agreed timescales and that all responses are transparent and clear.
- Ensuring that there are no breaches of customer GDPR data by effective customer identification
- Adhere to customer conduct and TCF values are adhered to at all time
- Help ensure that appropriate control frameworks are adhered to.
- Support the Banks culture and core values of Integrity, Certainty, Tirelessness and Simplicity in everything you do.
- Updating system records accordingly ensuring data is accurate and factual.
- Undertake any ad hoc task which may be required in order to support the wider aims of the department and the Bank.
- Offering customers appropriate financial signposting where appropriate
Experience and skills required for the role of Collections Assistant:
- Experience in banking/financial services
- Ability to set priorities and work productively and independently.
- Receptive to change and an agent for change
- Previous experience within a customer support role
- Understanding of and expertise in Treating Customers Fairly
- Understanding of and expertise in dealing with vulnerable customers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Extremely well organised; accurate, attention to detail and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player, flexible and adaptable.
