We're looking to recruit a Homeless Support Worker on a temporary basis for a minimum of 3 months in Warrington.

This is predominantly an office-based role, working from 9am to 5pm, but on occasion will be required to start from 0645am to take part in morning street walks, identifying rough sleepers and working to build trusting relationships with individuals in order for them to make positive lifestyle choices and sustain an independent tenancy.

Your new role

  • Providing practical support and advice to rough sleepers and individuals facing homelessness, assisting with the transition into supported or temporary accommodation and offering resettlement/tenancy sustainment support when housed.
  • Maintain and review support plans, risk assessments and daily contact sheets.
  • Motivating and encouraging individuals to address any barriers or challenges they are facing, and to build on existing life skills.
  • Working alongside housing advice teams, benefits agencies, mental health teams and other external services to provide practical support to customers.
  • Signposting and referrals.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals who are facing homelessness or rough sleeping with the ability to build trusting & supportive relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant housing related support & legislation
  • Understanding of welfare benefits system and ability to offer basic housing advice/guidance
  • Driving licence with access to own vehicle and valid business insurance
  • Ability to take part in occasional 06:45am starts
