We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Outreach Worker in Warrington on an ongoing, temporary basis on a full-time contract.

This is a 9am to 5pm role, but on occasion may be required to start from 06:45am to assist colleagues in undertaking a morning street walk to meet with people who are rough sleeping.

Overall, you will be providing housing related support, advice and guidance to vulnerable individuals who are facing homelessness, building trusting relationships and assisting to source and secure appropriate accommodation. Your new role

  • Providing support, advice and guidance to rough sleepers and individuals facing homelessness, assisting to source and secure appropriate supported or temporary accommodation and offering resettlement & tenancy sustainment support when they are housed.
  • Supporting individuals to build on existing life skills and encouraging to address any barriers or challenges they may be facing
  • Managing and maintaining strong working relationships with external service providers and partners, ensuring appropriate services are available for customers.
  • Working alongside Local Authority Housing Advice team.
  • Maintaining up to date support plans, risk assessments and daily contact sheets.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in a similar role, ideally outreach or working with vulnerable adults facing homelessness with the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Understanding of welfare benefits system
  • Knowledge & understanding of housing related support and relevant housing legislation
  • Understanding of safeguarding and mental health
  • Driving licence with valid business insurance and access to own vehicle
