Job Purpose:
Under the guidance of the Homes Manager and Deputy Homes Manager, the role involves caring for and guiding young people residing in the establishment. The position requires working regular weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and sleep-ins as per the home's rota.
Key Tasks
- Provide a planned and stimulating environment for young people, consistent with the Homes Statement of Purpose and Quality Care Standards (QCS) and Regulations.
- Implement, review, monitor, and develop social work 'Care Plans' and 'Placement Plans.'
- Develop, monitor, and review individual risk assessments.
- Assist young people with behavioral, emotional, or other difficulties.
- Participate in the professional life of the home and work as a team member.
- Maintain links with external agencies.
- Handle administrative tasks, including maintaining records and ensuring proper use of the home and its equipment.
- Attend reviews, planning meetings, staff meetings, and training courses.
- Complete the Diploma in Health & Social Care level 3 (unless already qualified).
Standard Duties

- Uphold and implement Council policies and procedures, including customer care, data protection, finance, ICT, safeguarding, and health & safety.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria:

Literate and numerate, willing to achieve the Diploma in Health & Social Care level 3.

Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure required.

PMVA, MAPA or Physical Intervention Training.
- Experience working with young people in social work/youth work or similar settings.
- Ability to engage with children and young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Knowledge of childcare legislation, supported accommodation quality standards, and relevant acts.
