4Recruitment Services are seeking a Personal Advisor to join a Care Leavers Service.  Personal Advisors are the last point of contact for our young people on their journey through care and into adulthood. As a personal advisor, you will start to work with young people from their 16th  birthday, forming relationships and contributing to their pathway plan on their journey into independence.  The role involves working with a wide range of differing needs/complexities and supporting one of the most vulnerable groups within society, you must be able to work with partner agencies and be prepared to travel/respond to crisis as they arise. We work with young people up until their 25th birthday.  Personal advisors can often be the only professional involved with a care leaver therefore, the role includes practical as well as emotional support along with providing advice and guidance or signposting to various support services.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Carry out duties of a Personal Advisor under the terms of the Children Leaving Care Act 2000.
  • Advise and assist social workers in a range of tasks related to preparing young people for independence.
  • Support care leavers living independently in the community.
  • Work in partnership with a range other agencies ensuring that young people leaving care receive the highest possible standard of service.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing the needs of 21+ and qualifying care leavers on an annual basis too.
  ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • Experience working as a Personal Advisor Leaving Care
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject to the role.
  • At least 5 GCSE’s including maths and English.
  • Enhanced DBS
