Description

Warrington Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Social Worker to join our Children's Duty Team. This well-established and supportive team plays a critical role in providing timely and effective responses to children and families in need. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact.

The role requires a flexible working arrangement, with one full week based in the office out of every two and at least two days in the office during the alternate week.

Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to referrals, assessing risks, and determining appropriate interventions.
  • Conduct child and family assessments, ensuring their needs and safety are prioritised.
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and other agencies to develop and implement effective care and support plans.
  • Ensure all statutory duties and responsibilities are fulfilled in line with relevant legislation and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with legal and organisational standards.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Proven experience in statutory children's social work, including safeguarding and risk assessment.
  • Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Checks: Five years of references, including verification of employment history and compliance with DfE Recommendation Questions.
  • Flexibility: Ability to travel to the office as required, in line with the hybrid working arrangement.
