Firmware and Hardware Engineer required for my client based near to Warrington.

The successful firmware and hardware engineer will be in charge of the design and developing of analogue and digital circuits. They will also be programming FPGA functionality.

They will need to require production documentation and perform design verification and tests.

Firmware and Hardware Engineer Job Overview

  • Develop both analogue and digital circuits including schematic capture and PCB layouts utilising high speed / low noise design techniques.
  • Design of FPGA functionality implemented in VDHL.
  • Preparation of parts lists / build of materials, with consideration to ease of manufacture and cost efficiency.
  • Verify designs using simulation and analytical tools.
  • Carry out prototype testing and analysis.
  • Develop production test specifications and procedures.
  • Support production with problem solving.

Firmware and Hardware Engineer Job Requirements

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, MSC preferred.
  • Experience in programming in C / C++.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio and Ki CAD.
  • Strong VHDL skills.
  • Experience with microcontrollers.
  • Development of production test specifications and procedures.
  • Familiarity with basic communications protocols and standards RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, UART.
  • Experience of prototype testing and analysis.
  • Use of simulation and analytical tools to verify design solutions.
  • Knowledge of common CE standards.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Warrington.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Salary - £45,000 to £50,000 - dependent upon skill, experience and qualifications.
