We have an opening for an experienced Software Engineer to join their Transmission & Distribution team.The successful candidate will be involved in every phase of the systems development lifecycle, from initial specification to design, programming, testing, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and configuring solutions, ranging from multiple instances of existing systems to creating new ones based on client requirements.
Engaging in database configuration, coding, application engineering, hardware interfacing, system testing, and commissioning.
Participating in client meetings, site surveys, and potentially traveling overseas for training and integration with partners.
Essential Qualifications:
Proficiency with PC use and electronic file management.
Strong database knowledge.
Understanding of SCADA/HMI and control systems.
Proficiency in C++, C#, Java, or VB.
Ability to learn and configure new products using manuals and online resources.
Capability to research ideas and products to determine their suitability for specific solutions.
Ability to complete tasks according to plan and company standards.
Team-oriented with a strong drive and willingness to learn.
Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients.
Commitment to following health and safety practices.
Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge in Electrical Engineering.
Understanding of electrical principles, such as power calculations.
Familiarity with GE equipment or Copa-data Zenon SCADA.
Experience with substation control systems.
Strong research skills.
Valid driving license.
