Your new companyA reputable consultancy business based in Birchwood is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.They are leading business in their field and have won multiple awards.Your new roleThe Strategic Procurement Manager will look at managing the strategy and direction of the procurement team and you will manage the team of category managers. Your role is to enhance the current operations and provide high quality procurement services both internally and externally. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of procurement and the ability to drive continuous improvement across the business. You will collaborate with stakeholders, including procurement, finance, marketing, sales and supply chain to develop a strong procurement function.The position will also be responsible for responding to the market and new changes in regulations and policies, ensuring they are adhered to during the organisation's procurement process.This is a brand new position at the company and it is a very exciting time to join the organisation with this new strategic plan being implemented.What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience as a Procurement Manager or Category Manager or similar position
  • Previous leadership experience / team management experience - essential
  • Be proficient with handling data and data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience operating at a strategic level
  • Self-starter who is driven and determined to develop their procurement career
