Reed Talent Solutions are supporting a public sector organisation in the recruitment of a Supplier Manager contractor for a 6-month opportunity.

We are seeking a Supplier Manager to lead the management and development of multi-million-pound, medium cost and business risk suppliers. This role is a maternity cover contract based in Warrington, offering a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The successful candidate will be accountable for driving value in cost, risk, relationship, innovation, and performance from a portfolio of preferred suppliers.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the management of 10 to 15 medium cost and business risk suppliers, ensuring full implementation of the Supplier Management Framework.
  • Develop supplier joint account plans, adhere to meeting governance frameworks, and achieve continuous improvement targets.
  • Collaborate with Market Management, Sourcing team members, and stakeholders to maximise overall value.
  • Deliver significant savings and benefits throughout the contract and relationship lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree-educated with a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g., CIPS, RICS, MBA, MSC) OR equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, including supplier management and collaboration.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management and knowledgeable about key supplier management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Skilled in negotiation, relationship development, and dispute resolution.
  • Problem-solving experience in large, complex organisations.
  • Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with a “completer finisher” mindset.
  • In-depth understanding of the Utilities market sector.
  • People and team management capabilities.
  • Full UK driving license.
