ALPLA UK is a manufacturer in the plastic industry, dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality plastic products to a global customer base. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Manager to streamline our supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.


Purpose of the role:

Responsible for overseeing and managing overall operational logistics strategy and processes with the aim of reaching operational excellence on plant level to ensure the standardised supply chain processes are applied.

Identify areas of improvement within supply chain and continuously search for solutions and optimisation.


Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Identify areas of improvement and synergies within the supply chain at ALPLA
  • Evaluate key performance indicators such as stock turnover, packaging costs, transport costs, external warehouse costs, according to the budget and the country strategy.
  • Implement and train corporate and regional standard supply chainprocesses:

> Order management

> Planning

> Warehousing

> Inventory Management

> Transport

  • Closely cooperate with various customers and suppliers in regards to all supply chain topics in the respective plant especially concerning optimizing supply chain and communication with the customers and suppliers
  • Leading the Team:

> Assesses training needs of staff and ensures execution of training linked to qualification of employees

> Coach local supply chain team on demand

> Spot check on local supply chain processes

  • Position will also support an additional plant based in Nottingham area (1 day per week)

Experience Required:

  • Technical or economical university degree (preferably with specialization in supply chain or logistics)
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related field (preferably within the manufacturing industry)
  • Leadership competences and experience proven track of leading people
  • Sound understanding of financial correlations
  • Ability to analyze trends and take countermeasures
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as ability to motivate people
  • Ability to explain technical details in a simple, understandable way
  • Self-dependent and hands-on working style
