We are a dynamic and fast-paced haulage business dedicated to delivering outstanding logistics solutions to our clients. With a strong focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a committed and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our team on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Transport Planning:

  • Plan and coordinate transport schedules for a fleet of vehicles to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
  • Optimise routes for maximum efficiency, considering traffic, fuel costs, and delivery timeframes.

• Driver Coordination:

  • Allocate drivers and vehicles, ensuring compliance with working time regulations and company policies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for drivers during your shift, providing clear instructions and resolving issues as they arise.

• Problem Solving:

  • Manage unexpected changes, including delays, vehicle breakdowns, or driver absences, implementing effective solutions to maintain service levels.

• Compliance Monitoring:

  • Ensure adherence to transport legislation, including driver hours, tachograph requirements, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with legal and company standards.

• Customer Communication:

  • Liaise with customers to provide updates, resolve queries, and maintain excellent service levels.

• Reporting & Handover:

  • Produce shift reports and ensure a comprehensive handover to the incoming Transport Planner at the end of each shift.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in transport planning within the haulage or logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance standards.
• Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive and customer-focused approach to work.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
