Transport Planner – Leading Haulage Business | Warrington

Location: Warrington

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotation, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate vehicle and driver schedules to ensure efficient transport operations.

  • Monitor and manage daily transport activities, ensuring adherence to customer requirements and service levels.

  • Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve any transport-related issues promptly.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, including driver hours and vehicle maintenance schedules.

  • Use transport management systems (TMS) to schedule loads, track deliveries, and update key stakeholders.

  • Monitor route efficiency and identify areas for cost reduction and performance improvement.

  • Provide support in responding to any transport disruptions, delays, or last-minute changes.

  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare reports as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a transport planning role.

  • Strong knowledge of UK road transport legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with drivers and internal teams.

  • A proactive and organised approach to workload management.
