Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Are you an experienced professional with a strong background in logistics and fleet management?

The company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join them as a Senior Logistics Controller.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient allocation of vehicles and suppliers to fulfil client orders, maintaining high service standards, and managing their core driver pool.

Please note that this role includes on-call responsibilities for one week every four-six weeks, with a £100 bonus paid for each on-call period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the entire life cycle of each job, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Allocate jobs based on service requirements, cost, and quality including job prioritisation with a focus on key customers while meeting service level requirements for all clients.
  • Monitor job progression and report any service issues immediately.
  • Ensure jobs are completed with all necessary documentation, including proof of delivery
  • Maintain effective communication with logistics controllers and provide feedback to ensure smooth operations
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a pool of core drivers, ensuring compliance with driving regulations and company standards and regularly review and manage driver performance
  • Resolve any issues related to feedback and complaints
  • Maximise gross profit on bookings while balancing service levels
  • Regularly cleanse and update address books, ensuring accurate data for clients.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a similar role within the logistics or fleet management industry.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator, confident with inbound and outbound calls.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Resilient, process-driven, self-starter who can work under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
