DBR Group, acting as a Recruitment Agency, are recruiting for an experienced Saw Warehouse Operator to work at our client who are a household name in the Industrial Industry.
Our client was Founded in 1954. The Company began as a mill furnisher, supplying maintenance and utility products to local factories and garages.
After diversifying into insulation and high temperature products during the 1950s and 1960s, they developed and introduced a re-manufacturing service to meet the need for tailor-made items. Energy conservation was the next factor to influence the companys development in responding to the growing demand for insulation materials. This was followed by changes in fire safety legislation which led to us expanding our range to include a wide range of fire protection products and insulating boards. Now, after more than 65 years in business, they are proud to be the largest supplier of Insulation, Cladding and Fire Protection products in the UK.
This role is based on a 12-week Temporary to Permanent position. Ideally local candidates, unless you have transport due to the location.
Purpose of the Role:
To fabricate materials to a high standard in line with Quality Control
To document processes within the job card
To maintain machinery and local workstation
To operate machinery in a safe manor
To load and unload various vehicles
To drive the FLT in a safe manner
To pick and pack orders to the quality assured standard set out by the company
To ensure the FLT to be driven is roadworthy and to inspect the FLT for operation and report defects in a timely manner
To assist with the loading and unloading
To complete associated paperwork collecting signatures where required
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
To undertake daily FLT checks and report any defects directly to the line manager or supervisor
To assist in completing daily PI counts and stock taking. Reporting any shortages or damages directly to the line manager or supervisor
To ensure company quality control processes are adhered too
Keep track and reporting of all perishable goods and manage stock rotation
General housekeeping Maintaining the working environment to keep it clean and tidy
Completing mandatory check lists in relation to the workplace (FLTs, Fire Exits, Walkways etc)
Goods In Checking Purchase orders and products on arrival. To ensure paperwork matches goods received. Report any shortages or damages prior to any booking process
To ensure loads carried is restrained safely (may include use of securing straps, etc)
Carry out all picks as instructed within core hours and follow procedures for customer returns
Attend warehouse briefings and de briefings (Toolbox Talks, meetings etc)
Loading and unloading vehicles safely using FLT/Manual Handling
Deal with internal and external customer service issues in a professional, friendly manner
Maintain vehicle hygiene including cleaning up spillage, removing pallets and boxes, etc
Liaising with the management team ensuring smooth operation of the transport department
To escalate all risks/relevant queries to the supervisors as appropriate
Compliance with H&S rules and procedures
Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills
Wear uniform and PPE when required
Resource/Information Management:
Good at information seeking and handling
Provide information/feedback for action towards meeting departmental objectives
Personal Management:
No direct report
Create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships with warehouse and despatch colleagues, both within the department and throughout the company
Operate to high moral and personal standards
Assist in the development of Warehouse employees as required
Provide feedback on work performance of individuals
Develop oneself within the job
Information Management:
Accurately record written data or printed date and safely store information
Ensure safe custody of warehouse records daily breaks, start times and other activities
Obtain and evaluate information to aid decision-making
Health & Safety:
Report to the direct manager any Health & Safety hazard, personal or road traffic accidents
Being responsible for his/her own safety and working environment
Attributes:
Must hold an up-to-date FLT Licence
Previous FLT experience is essential
Be literate and numeric
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels
Good organisational skills and able to manage multiple tasks
Strong customer focus with the ability to deal with arising issues
Able to complete paperwork
Working in a fast-paced environment

Hours:
Monday to Friday 6 am to 3 pm
Remuneration:
£11.80 per hour
