About this Position:

We are seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to support the deployment of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches within multi-domain programmes. This role involves collaboration with domain specialists to develop MBSE models that provide essential information for design and development teams. The position offers opportunities from Engineer to Lead Engineer level, depending on experience and qualifications.

The role demands expertise in multi-domain product development processes, a strong foundation in Systems Engineering, and the ability to document and communicate complex concepts clearly. Experience in adapting or defining MBSE frameworks is highly valued, along with mentoring skills to guide teams in MBSE methodologies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deploy MBSE approaches across programmes, working with domain experts to create models supporting design and development activities.
  • Collaborate across domains (mechanical, electrical, electronics, software, controls, etc.) to ensure effective integration of MBSE practices.
  • Develop and document processes in a clear and concise manner to facilitate understanding by non-MBSE domain engineers.
  • Act as a key contributor or leader in MBSE activities, depending on the level of the role.
  • Drive MBSE delivery through formal and informal customer engagements.
  • Support the MBSE process throughout the development lifecycle.

Experience Required:

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in MBSE development and deployment across domains such as electronics, software, and mechanical engineering.
  • Proven ability to work within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), including domain specialists, to deliver MBSE solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical application.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, understandable language for non-specialists.
  • Strong organisational skills and experience in agile methodologies.
  • Background in engineering (mechanical, electronics, or software) within industries such as automotive, aerospace, or defence.
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to guide discussions and deliver MBSE outcomes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, from requirements definition to retirement.
  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or related disciplines.
  • Extensive experience with agile methodologies in digital transformation projects.
  • Project management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • INCOSE certification is highly desirable.
