My client is a large public sector organisation dedicated to serving the local community of Warwick. With a team that's passionate about public service, they strive to maintain the highest standards of financial oversight and integrity.

Description

The Senior Accountant's duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive financial advice and guidance to various teams and departments.
  • Lead the preparation and reporting of financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and perform regular financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Maintain financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting practices.
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.

Profile

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

  • A full or part CCAB Qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the public sector (ideally local authority)
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
