Description
The Senior Accountant's duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Provide comprehensive financial advice and guidance to various teams and departments.
- Lead the preparation and reporting of financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Support the annual budgeting process and perform regular financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Maintain financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting practices.
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
Profile
A successful Senior Accountant should have:
- A full or part CCAB Qualification
- Proven experience in a similar role within the public sector (ideally local authority)
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
