IAPS have an exciting opportunity available for an eager, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as a Membership Officer on a full-time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week (part-time arrangements would be considered for the right candidate). In return you will receive a competitive salary of £32,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The Membership Officer is accountable for all issues relating to members and the association’s offer to them. They will assist us in growing our membership whilst supporting members to ensure they are getting the most out of their association. The Membership Officer will also support senior staff in developing our strategic aim to acquire new membership and to bring clarity to the membership categories and criteria.
Working in a busy and varied position, you will play a key role in delivering high quality support to both our members and colleagues at IAPS. The successful candidate will be the primary contact for enquiries from prospective members as well as providing administrative support during the application process and supporting our members throughout their membership ensuring they are aware of all the benefits available to them.
You will either be currently working in an administrative role within education/ a membership association and looking for a new challenge, or perhaps are a recent graduate or already in work but are ambitious to develop your career and seeking an employer who sees your potential and will invest in your training. You will have a desire to be part of an exciting, fast-paced, customer focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality administrative support within the membership application process including monitoring the progress of applications and providing assistance where required, reporting on the progress to colleagues within IAPS.
- Be the primary point of contact for members with queries relating to their membership and direct them, where appropriate, to colleagues within IAPS.
- Possess a high level of IT literacy, ideally including experience of managing, manipulating and extracting data within Microsoft Office and databases, or a willingness to learn new skills if not.
- Assist the senior team in developing the association’s strategic aim to grow the membership and ensure our service is at the highest standard and at the level expected by its members.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success.
- Undertake such other duties as are compatible with the nature of the post.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience of the educationsector is desirable, but not essential.
- A 'service mindset’ prompting the constant question 'How can I better serve members, my team and the organisation?’ and leading to exemplary effort and reflective personal development.
- The ability to play a role as part of a fast-paced, high-performing team whilst being comfortable working without direction and using own initiative to problem-solve.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence.
- Excellent time management with a clarity of thinking that allows a focus on the most important task, insight, or action.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain complex ideas.
- Ability to manage competing priorities to demanding timescales.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
